Ed Morrish captains the youngster at a local level and wasn't surprised with the accolade his teammate picked up, suggesting his potential is unrivalled.
"He's probably the best young talent to come out of Orange in a very long time," Morrish said.
"He'll play first grade in Sydney in my opinion and maybe higher depending on how hard he works."
Weymouth's career is only just beginning but he kicked it off with a bang at the first grade level, reaching a personal milestone right off the bat.
"He debuted when he was about 14 and scored a century in his fifth game," Morrish said. "I love the kid... he's a freak and loves his cricket."
Not only did the 17-year-old receive awards from the Mitchell Cricket Council, but so did a list of high achievers. The Carl Sharp memorial award for volunteer of the year was handed out to Bathurst's Graeme Glazebrook while the senior and junior players of the year went to Henry Shoemark and Cooper Brien respectively.
