The changed traffic conditions will impact Summer Street between the Hill Street roundabout and the Woodward Street roundabout.
Work involves replacing the surface along a 650 metre section of road, to improve safety for all road users.
Transport for NSW says to minimise impact to motorists, work will take place between 7pm and 5.30am from Tuesday June 30.
The work is expected to be completed in one night, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions will be in place during work hours, including lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
The work along Summer Street coincides with similar road works along Anson Street this week.
Orange City Council is advising motorists to avoid the block of Anson Street between Dalton and Prince streets this week.
As part of the preparations for the new DPIE building, council crews will be re-surfacing the block north of the traffic lights.
Weather permitting, this block of Anson Street will be closed for until Saturday morning, with work running from 7am to 5pm each working day this week.
