The long-awaited return of the Western Premier League is set, with the first round of the regional competition to take place next Saturday, July 4.
Dubbo Bulls FC, Macquarie United, and Orana Spurs will fly the flag for the Dubbo association while Barnstoneworth FC of Orange, Bathurst's Panorama FC, Parkes Cobras, and the Lithgow Workmen round out the competition.
The draw was released on Friday and Barnies begin the season at home, hosting Macquarie United at Jack Brabham Park.
Dubbo Bulls will meet Panorama FC next Saturday from 4.30pm at Lady Cutler 6, while the Spurs will be in Parkes for the match which officially launches the season at 3pm.
The WPL was originally meant to feature nine clubs but both the South Dubbo Wanderers and Orange's Waratahs FC withdrew from the 2020 title race due to the impact of COVID-19 and uncertainty around player numbers.
The withdrawal of the Waratahs' from the competition is set to bolster Orange District Football Association from a local perspective with plenty of Tahs committed to playing.
The bulk of matches this season will be played on Saturday while there are some Sunday and Wednesday evening games.
The top four move through to semi-finals before the grand final is played on September 26.
