A new sports facility will be such a positive addition to our area and Orange City Council and Mayor Reg Kidd should be commended for the work they have done to make this happen.
At the beginning of last year's state election I personally approached the Premier about bringing this to Orange as I knew that the Shooters Party had done nothing for our electorate since 2016.
*I was appalled when I found out that during his entire term, Phil Donato had never once made an appointment to meet with Gladys Berejiklian to discuss infrastructure for his constituency. Outrageous.
During last year's campaign, Mr Donato consistently rubbished the idea of the sports stadium and yet he now claims it will be a boon for our area.
Even since the election, it has been Mayor Reg Kidd who has helped me keep the Government to account.
Maybe if the local member believed in this idea so passionately, he would bother to meet with the Leaders of the Liberal-National Government, rather than create media stories ...
Kate Hazelton, a former Nationals candidate for the seat of Orange
EDITOR'S NOTE: * According to Mrs Hazelton this references comments Mr Donato made at candidate forums in Orange and Forbes. Mrs Hazelton told the CWD Mr Donato said the money allocated to spend on the stadium could be better spent elsewhere.
