A dog has been euthanised after biting a woman on an East Orange street this week as council rangers say dog attacks are rising.

Orange City Council rangers responded to a call about a dog incident in East Orange on Wednesday at about 12 noon.
A woman reportedly suffered puncture wounds to her leg as a result of the incident, receiving medical treatment for her injuries.
Orange City Council communications spokesperson Allan Reeder said the owner of the dog surrendered the animal to rangers, and the dog has since been put down.
Mr Reeder said the attack was part of a rising trend for this time of the year and urged dog owners to be cautious.
"At this time of year the rangers have noticed that dog attacks are on the increase," he said.
"They believe it may be due to non-desexed female dogs coming into season."
He said Orange City Council encourages the de-sexing of all companion animals that aren't owned specifically for breeding.
