The Bureau of Meteorology forecast as much as 20mm of rain for Saturday, but it only really amounted to a few drops during the day.
Overnight, though, steady falls were recorded from about midnight across Orange, with 21.6mm in the gauge at the Bureau's official station at the Orange Airport up until 9am on Sunday morning.
While 22mm was recorded in rain gauges at west Orange.
The showers are clearing on Sunday morning and aren't expected to develop again until next Saturday, with 90 per cent chance of more rain to kick-off next weekend too.
Early predictions show as much as 10mm could fall in the region.
Orange's water storage level crept up over 26 per cent last week, too, with the city's overall storage level now at 26.03 per cent, Suma Park rising to 23.33 per cent.
