A man who tried to leave an Orange hotel during a police drug dog operation was fined in Orange Local Court on Monday for methamphetamine possession.

Luke Hines, 35, of McLachlan Street, was stopped by police when he was seen "swiftly" moving toward an exit at the Ophir Tavern about 10pm on March 14.
He was searched and police found a small plastic bag containing less than a gram of methamphetamine.
Hines was fined $110 in court.
In another case a woman who tried to prevent a police search by saying the car she was driving wasn't hers, has been fined in Orange Local Court for possession of methamphetamine.
Rachael May Hall, 30, of Leura Road, was stopped by police after she was seen driving away from an address that was known for drug activity.
Despite her saying there could be anything in the car, police found methamphetamine in her handbag.
The drug weighed 0.4 grams and Hall was fined $110 in court.
