According to club personnel Dustin Burns, Jedd Wrigley was one of the stars of the day as the Dubbo-based junior had an 'outstanding' weekend on tracks and stood above the rest.
"He was really impressive and ," Burns said.
Not only did Dustin Burns play a big part in running the show on Sunday, he also crossed the finish line first in the senior performance heavy as he and Stephen Rosse impressed in their respective classes.
But for Burns, the weekend wasn't as much about the results as it was about finally get back out there and having fun and he said the day exceeded expectations from every standpoint.
"It was a really good day," he said.
"Everyone abided by the social distancing rules and it was one of our best run meetings to be honest."
Something that made the event run smoother was the online registration process that was required before the event.
Usually, competitors receive their briefs and enter into events in-person on the day but the switch to the online format was a surprisingly easy transition to make.
"Pre-entering online worked really well for us," he said.
"Our drivers did all their briefing online and it wasn't face-to-face like what it normally is.
"Obviously we've got a lot of guidelines to work towards with the government health advice but it was a well-run weekend with no issues.
"Everyone stuck to the rules and did what they had to do."
Burns estimates about 25 juniors and 25 seniors turned up to compete on Sunday and a lot of the younger drives stepped up in the class to compete against the big boys.
"The kids that were normally juniors went up to seniors," he said.
"We had a lot of new people to the sport on the weekend who did really well.
"I was really impressed with how it all went."
Sunday was the first event the club has held since its turnover in committee and while you'd normally expect some teething issues under new leadership, there weren't any to speak of with the new leaders putting everything into place for a smooth day at the tracks.
"It all went well with the new committee," he said.
"Everything ran smoothly and there were no issues. It was just a really fun day and a good event to be around for everyone involved."
