But the venues people returned to are different to the ones they last saw in March.
Social distancing rules are limiting access to bar areas, sanitiser is dispensed everywhere and restrictions on travel inside venues are in place.
The Orange Ex-Services' Club opened its doors at 10am.
People were greeted by new admission rules while staff in high-vis vests directed them around the club.
Food and beverage manager Tusitala Sola said more than 100 people came into the club in the first few hours.
"Our capacity for the club is 500 people. That's based on the dining venues," he said.
Mr Sola said under COVID-19 rules everyone had to give their first name and a phone contact number which the club kept for 28 days as a record for health authorities in case there was an outbreak of the virus.
There are also separate entry and exit points for the gaming area, Diggers restaurant, the coffee shop and the lounge area.
And there are signs and directions for how people can get to the bathrooms.
Currently only the ground floor of the club is in use.
While there have been requests from people for functions the club is waiting for government regulations to change before they can open function rooms.
Management will also assess how the re-opening goes before considering re-opening the top floor Greenhouse of Orange area.
Mr Sola said safety measures in place would include the installation of a 'fogging machine' to disinfect the premises daily.
