After the stablemates both bounced out of the barriers quickly, it was Absolute Ripper ($16) who dictated proceedings alongside the short-priced Lord Zoulander ($3.40) at the front of the pack.
Anthony Cavallo was one wide and equal first at the 400-metre mark and continued to ride the mare nicely while Adrian Layt sat back in the middle on Panuara in sixth spot.
When the group made the final turn, it was Absolute Ripper who poked her nose in front of Lord Zoulander and had a premier position with the post in sight.
Cavallo reached for the whip at the 300 but the mare was slowing down while Lord Zoulander and Power Rush ($11) pushed forward.
Favourite Outback Diva ($3.20) flashed home late but it was Lord Zoulander who held on for Gary Portelli as Panuara and Absolute Ripper past the post in sixth and seventh position.
The triumph was the four-year-old's second in-a-row at Kembla Grange as he won on the soft six 11 days prior over 1200m.
For Panuara and Absolute Ripper, the seven-year-olds continue to struggle to register positive results as Saturday's meet marked three consecutive non placings for Panuara and five consecutive non placings for Absolute Ripper.
Cotton on George to return after breaking maiden
Cotton on George will be one of three Alison Smith-trained horses to do battle at Dubbo on Monday as the four-year-old gelding is fresh off a flawless 900 metres at Wellington on May 10 in which he secured the first win of his promising career.
Kody Nestor's Forgiato ($4.40) shapes as the biggest threat to Cotton on George's ($4) bid for two in-a-row in the $20,000 Kings Hall Jewellers Class One Handicap (1000m) as the three-year-old gelding will be ridden by Anthony Cavallo.
Matthew Cahill will be in the saddle for Smith's gelding and after having some bad luck with barriers recently, she's happy with number four on Monday.
"He's drawn well and he's trained well since his last start," Smith said.
"There's a couple good horses in there that he's got to beat but we'll see how he does."
Avro will compete in the opening race of the day at 12.20pm, the $20,000 Nutrien Hargourts Maiden Plate (1000m) while Who's Tinny is set to compete in race three, the $20,000 IFA Insurance F&M Maiden Handicap (1300m).
Racing will get underway from Dubbo Turf Club at 12.20pm.
