Police attended the house where she was at for an unrelated matter about 4.30pm on December 15, 2019, and arrested a man.
Three police officers were holding the man while a constable attempted to lead them out through a narrow kitchen.
However, Wendy Elisabeth Forbes, 60, of Orchard Grove Road, hindered their progress despite being repeatedly told to move.
Forbes then grabbed the constable's forearm and later said she was trying to stop the police officer so she could explain the man's medical requirements.
Forbes was also charged with assaulting a police officer and hindering police from executing their duty.
In court on Wednesday the offence was described as a minor escalation of what should have been a routine arrest.
She was convicted and given a 12-month community correction order for hindering police.
Magistrate David Day said the more serious matter was the assault for which he gave Forbes an 18-month community correction order.
