Principal Ken Greenwood said the students from leadership team were keen to get involved and raise awareness and money to fund vital services for people in need.

"The school has a long tradition of participating in the Red Shield Appeal Doorknock weekend and this year will be a little different as the students will be campaigning online," he said.

"The leadership team has worked incredibly hard to keep the tradition going and they have organised for a mufti day will dress in red and donate gold coin on June 5.

Mr Greenwood said the junior, middle and senior students have a healthy sense of competitiveness to raise the funds.

"Last year, we had approximately 200 students involved in the doorknock weekend and the students don't want to lose the momentum to help the Salvos," he said.

"Not only are the students taking part, but the parents are promoting it within the community and it's really encouraging to see everyone working together."

Mr Greenwood also said the work of Salvation Army reflects the school's values and commitment to help the community.

"I believe the Salvos shares the same ideals and commitment as the school to support others in need and we encourage students to emulate the same vision," he said.
