She said the pursuit stopped soon after when the vehicle reached the outskirts of Orange.
Acting Inspector Mackenzie said the car was later found abandoned on Lukin Place.
Police later arrested a man, 37, from Forbes nearby.
Acting Inspector Mackenzie said he was charged with being in a police pursuit, exceeding the speed limit by more than 45 km/h and other unrelated matters.
She said he was refused bail to appear in Dubbo Local Court on Friday May 22.
