Unlike other states, there is no limit for how far NSW residents can travel within the state to visit friends and family in their home.
"We purposely haven't put any kilometre limits in NSW because we do want to encourage that intrastate travel," Ms Berejiklian said.
"Whether you live in the bush or whether you live in a major city, you might for business reasons or work reasons or care reasons need to travel those longer distances.
"Once we maintain a significant level of control of the virus, people's confidence will increase and definitely intrastate travel within NSW will actually boost our economic activity and support regions as well as larger cities."
Ms Berejiklian said while she appreciates that communities yet to record a COVID-19 case were very anxious about the eased restrictions, she said it was about finding the right balance.
In the "not-too-distant future", she said the NSW Government would be looking at opportunities to ease restrictions on short stays and recreation activities.
In Western NSW there have been 45 confirmed virus cases, although none remain active. A number of local government areas including Cowra, Forbes, Bogan and Oberon have had no positive cases at all.
Meanwhile, new heat map data of the number of tests by postcode, shows Orange continues to top the list in the region at 1248 tests up until May 4.
Data also shows there has been 1080 tests in the Bathurst postcode, 686 in Dubbo, 482 in Lithgow and 206 in Mudgee.
Other testing data includes: Parkes (148), Young (118), Wellington (102), Cowra (100), Blayney (95), Forbes (90) and Oberon (79).
Under the eased restrictions two people, and their dependant children, can visit another household providing it was for one of four reasons, which include: going to work/school, to buy something, to exercise or to provide care or attend to medical needs
The relaxed rules on home visitation were an extension of the definition of care.
