Orange Pest Control owner Max Skulander said the severe water shortage had a massive impact on pests this season.
"I noticed a decrease in the European wasp population and I received dozens of calls about black ants as they are commonly found around the house looking for a source of water and food," he said.
Mr Skulander said as Orange approaches winter, rodents will be more prevalent although spider populations will decrease.
"A lot of spiders go dormant in the colder weather, but there is still the risk of red back spiders," he said.
"I find a lot of mice and rats hiding in roof cavities during winter and that's because they want to breed in a space that is warm."
Termitrust Pest Control Dubbo owner and manager James Sutton said he had a lot of people call to combat the critters in the region.
"Over the last month, I have had the same workload as I would at during a peak period and have had a lot of work in Orange which is great," he said.
"As people stay at home, they are taking the time to clean spare rooms and have found several spiders and rodents.
"Some people are also renovating their homes and have found termites in the walls and floors and in that instance it's best to call a pest technician to deal with the situation straight away."
Mr Sutton works a sole trader said he has serviced on average 50 houses a week and several pubs and clubs in the Central West during the coronavirus period.
"I have noticed quite a few mice, rats and German cockroaches because businesses aren't operating due to the social distancing restrictions," he said.
"We still have to keep up with the control and maintenance because the pests have free rein in the area and it has become worse now than it was when people were working in commercial premises."
He also said he not only provides solutions to protect homes and businesses from pests but also to make customer's home environment healthier and safer.
"I also arrange warranty checks on houses to ensure they are disease free," Mr Sutton said.
