A load of 1200 hot cross buns hopped into the facility on Wednesday morning ahead of a challenging Easter, with Dudley Private Hospital CEO Paul McKenna ordering them personally from Village Bakehouse.
The order also proved a "shot in the arm" for the bakery, which like many cafes and restaurants in the city had been hit by the ongoing coronavirus downturn.
"Dudley Private Hospital is part of the close-knit community here in Orange and we want to help local businesses survive this difficult time," Mr McKenna said.
"The Village Bakehouse is a favourite among our staff and we wanted to continue to support them."
Mr McKenna missed the initial delivery but there were smiles aplenty when the delivery was dropped off - using proper social distancing and hospital rules, of course - and he said it was "pretty incredible" to see them all delivered.
"It's nice, actually," he said.
"Staff are working pretty hard so it's nice to reward them a little bit."
Village Bakehouse manager Taylor Stevenson said the order was a boost to the business.
"So far we've been able to keep the doors open with the help of the local community but the order from the hospital means we can give our bakers a few more hours of work and it's a great injection of cash for the business," he said.
