Alison Smith will be hoping Vaquero can replicate the result he produced at Towac Park on March 20 as the four-year-old gelding is set to race in the 1700m Kurrinda Bloodstock at Wellington on Sunday, the first fixture of the day.
She jumped as a 26-1 chance at Orange last month and at 1pm on Sunday is priced at $13 to win in a field that doesn't lack decorated horses.
Vaquero could shock pundits agains but will need to overcome the likes of Reward Seeker as the $3.80 chance is the shortest price in the race, boasting four placings in its last six starts.
Second favourite is Predictable Miss who currently sits at 5-1, followed by Moon Panthers ($6).
Smith stated in the lead-up to Vaquero's last race that he was 'bred to go further' than 1400m, meaning the 1700m distance at Wellington might be a better class than the one she ran in most recently.
