About 10pm a neighbour noticed a fire in the roof and phoned emergency services.
The three trucks from Fire and Rescue NSW arrived at the scene at 10.10pm and extinguished the fire in about 10 minutes and left the scene at 11.38pm.
Central West Police District Inspector Shane Jessup said it was fortunate the fire did not take hold.
"Police are investigating as the fire does appear to be suspicious and they are appealing for witnesses to come forward," he said.
In another matter two 13-year-old girls were arrested and refused bail by police after they were allegedly seen breaking into a car.
Inspector Jessup said a witness saw the girls breaking into a Toyota Hilux in Willow Place on Friday night and phoned police who arrived a short time later.
He said the girls ran from police but were arrested after a short pursuit.
The girls were charged in relation to the offence as well as breaching their bail.
They were refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Children's Court via audio visual link on Saturday.
In another matter police are investigating a break and enter in Anson Street.
Inspector Jessup said offenders cut through a section of mesh to gain entry to the site between 5pm on Friday and 3pm on Saturday.
Nothing appeared to have been taken.
