Orange City Council chief executive officer David Waddell said the aquatic centre was the only facility affected by the latest requirements.
"We're fortunate to have a nine-lane, 50 metre outdoor pool as well as the indoor facility," he said.
"We'd normally be moving to close the outdoor pool as the seasonal temperatures start to drop but while it's operation complies with government recommendations, we'll be keeping it open."
Mr Waddell said pool staff would limit the number of people using the facility and ensure social distancing occurred.
"We are trying to the balance the imperative to stay at home, with giving people who need some healthy, safe options for activity," he said.
Learn to swim classes, squad training and the water polo competition have all ended.
"It's not practical to have classes for pre-schoolers in the outdoor pool," Mr Waddell said.
Cabonne Council also announced the Molong and Canowindra outdoor pools would close as of Monday afternoon, a week before their planned closures.
