Okay forget the empty shelves, the lack of pasta, toilet pager and rice ... what about the empty streets, the aggressive shoppers and the poor workers having to deal with people who are stressed, sad and fearful.
Who would have thought our purchases would be rationed, our socialising curtailed and our elderly and unwell totally isolated.
It's now we remember the historic stories of yesteryear where our grandmothers made stew out of every bit of food they could salvage and stayed home and entertained themselves.
Those of us who live close to our extended family will have to step up and help the more vulnerable and the lonely among them.
Let's also try and help our neighbours or friends when we can.
Despite all the bad things we may think about social media at least it's allowing us to keep connected to those who aren't close.
Interesting times ahead.
