The Cardiac Cath Lab team, Lyndal Taylor, Kate Toynton (pictured) as well as El Moore Kerry Porter, Kath McMaster, Sandi McAtamney and Jess Smith hosted a Pilates in the Vineyard fundraiser at Heifer Station Wines on Saturday as a continuation of its Cancer Council fundraising.
Team member Lyndal Taylor said Tanya Crowley from Phyzx Pilates donated her time to run the Pilates class, Orange Grazing Co supplied the food and Darren Smith from Daz Music performed.
Mrs Taylor said they raised about $1900.
"It was outdoors and there was plenty of space for social distancing," she said.
The event followed another fundraiser run by the group at The Oriana last week and before that they hosted a fundraising breakfast barbecue during the morning shift change at Newcrest's Cadia Valley Operations.
"The breakfast at Cadia was nice and early at 5am," Mrs Taylor said.
She said her husband Matthew Taylor works at Cadia, and they had support from Merv's Eatery, which brought a coffee van, the Cadia Development Team cooked the barbecue, Coles donated bread rolls and Barrett's Wholesale Foods donated bacon and eggs.
"Cadia matched us dollar for dollar and all up we raised almost $3000," she said.
"We got all these guys and girls coming in to work and a few of the ones on their way out as well."
Last week the team also did a hair dying fundraiser at The Oriana where each team member dyed their hair either pink or purple and kept it hidden under shower caps until a big reveal at the end.
Children Nick Johnsen and Haiden Porter also shaved their heads, hairdressers donated time and product and about $730 was raised.
"Everyone has been amazing, the community support is amazing," Mrs Taylor said.
"I think we've got a little bit further of a community reach because there's seven of us reaching out to everybody that we know.
"People are very willing to help, they hear we are from the hospital and are raising money for the Cancer Council. People are very generous."
The team was learning a routine from Fattisha Kamara, they will pick it up later in they year and Fitness Perfection donated rehearsal space.
