The couple were married at Cowra and stayed at The Oriana, while on their way to the Gold Coast for their honeymoon.
The couple went on to have sons Phillip and Mark and spent their marriage living in the Cowra region with Mr Tucker working as a farmer and Mrs Tucker has been a nurse and managed shops.
Mr Tucker has also spent the past 36 years fighting off skin cancers that he believed stemmed from when he was called up to fight in the first National Service intake for the Vietnam war.
"I came home in 1967 and someone mentioned Robyn's name and we've been together ever since," he said.
Mrs Tucker grew up in Billimari and Mr Tucker came from Woodstock. She said they had gone to school together and she played tennis with his sister June but she didn't take an interest in him until he returned from the war.
"We had our reception in Cowra and it was a bit late," Mr Tucker said.
"We came through a bit late and got in about midnight."
The couple spent their wedding night in room 45 when the motel was only two years old.
"The motel has grown since then," Mrs Tucker said.
