The service, which operates on a fortnightly basis, will be reviewed in April.
St Vincent de Paul Society northwest region director Phil Donnan said "it is with much regret we advise the suspension of the service in Orange for the immediate future".
"This service depends on the generosity of our volunteers who come along to prepare sandwiches and home-cooked meals," he said.
"With a number of our volunteers being considered vulnerable they have had to withdraw from the team and we now have insufficient help to continue the service in the short term."
The Vinnies service, which provides nutritious meals to the vulnerable and disadvantaged in the community, was servicing its clients with a van operating on Monday and Wednesdays and a café operating on Fridays.
While meals cannot be supplied, anyone requiring assistance can contact Vinnies care and support team in Orange on 0474 500 650.
Mr Donnan said the situation will be reviewed in April and "we hope to be back up and running as soon as soon as there are enough volunteers to consistently operate the service".
"Any person interested in volunteering is encouraged to talk to us on 02 6362 2565," he said.
