It's never ideal to win before the finish line but in the case of the Orange Piranhas Triathlon Club, they were mathematical certainties to take out the series before Sunday's scheduled event at Cowra.

The Gosling Creek gang were almost 24 points ahead of the Mudgee Red Devils and in the wake of the cancellation, were crowned 2019-2020 champions, capping off dominant decade in which they've won over a handful of titles.
Orange Triathlon Vice President Frank Ostini credited his club for its efforts all season long, suggesting there's great strength in numbers.
"We had a good season. Everybody travelled and went to all the events," Ostini said.
"It didn't happen the way we wanted it to but we were always going to win."
The early cancellation might have been a blessing in disguise as the Piranhas weren't going to take a full contingent to the scheduled event at Cowra.
"We had a fair few out who were planning on going to the Newcrest Orange Challenge but of course, that was cancelled as well," he said.
A virus won't be stopping any of the club's members from continuing to train, especially the Vice President who was up bright and early on Friday.
"I was up training this morning and I'll be training again tomorrow," he said.
"Everyone buddies up around here and gets into it together... that's what makes the club great.
"The kids train for the shorter stuff and some of the adults hang around each other for those longer events
"You can't sit back and not train because then you won't be in shape for the next event. We always train throughout the winter and compete over the summer so it hopefully won't be too different to every other year."
The inter-club season is set to kick back off in November hopefully for the Piranhas and all athletes, the City2Surf goes ahead as planned on August 9. "We'll all be straight into that if it's on."
