In a letter to parents and carers principal Peter Meers said he understood if parents wanted to keep children at home.
"They will not be penalised or disadvantaged in doing so and the school will endeavour to provide work via Google Classroom," he said.
"Whilst the school currently remains open, we are preparing for the possibility of providing continuity of school through remote schooling if the school closed."
Mr Meers also noted counselling was available for students who were anxious or stressed about the current situation.
He said while buses weren't supplied by the school, he encouraged students to do what they can to enforce social distancing, which "may be difficult" on buses.
"If practical, parents may consider alternative ways for their children to come to school to reduce congestion on buses," he said.
"As a school, we are strongly encouraging good hygiene, social distancing as much as feasible in a school, and classroom practices that reflect Health Authority advice."
Public schools have not yet released recommendations surrounding public transport.
Orange Busline manager David Lee said while patronage numbers had been lower in recent weeks due to coronavirus concerns, the company was following NSW Transport guidelines to ensure the buses were as safe as possible.
He said buses were disinfected every morning from 5am before their first routes and then again by drivers following their morning shifts.
Mr Lee said this was being done for all 28 buses, both in Orange and in regional centres such as Molong, Manildra, Spring Hill and Millthorpe.
He said drivers had also been supplied with gloves and masks.
