Fitzgerald Estate Agents director Josh Fitzgerald said all tours of properties by prospective buyers would now be done by appointment.
"We're just trying to protect people in a closed environment, being someone's house," he said.
Mr Fitzgerald said staff would also have hand-sanitiser available for people to wash their hands before entering the house.
He said vendors were being encouraged to put extra effort into cleaning their homes, particularly door knobs and bench tops where people touched most.
Mr Fitzgerald said they were also looking to provide virtual tours of houses for people to see online. He said in Sydney some agents were moving to online auctions to limit human contact.
Townsend Real Estate principal Stephen Townsend said they were monitoring the situation.
"We are seeking advice on that at the moment," he said.
Mr Townsend said they had booked open houses for the next two Saturdays.
He said they were also concerned about rental managers doing property inspections of rental homes.
And he said tenants had also expressed concerns about staff entering their homes at this time.
