Emergency services received a call out to a property on Anzac Place at three minutes past midnight on Monday and found two cars "well alight", one on the grass just metres from the home and one in the driveway.
Central West Police District inspector Dave Harvey said officers evacuated the five residents "to safeguard from injury", but it's believed the house didn't sustain any damage.

In another incident on Friday night, police were called after a car crashed into a utility and trailer parked on Gardiner Road about 9pm.
A vehicle travelling west along Gardiner Road smashed into the rear end of the trailer and ute, causing the two to jack-knife, with the offending vehicle taking off without exchanging details.
Inspector Harvey said bystanders followed the first vehicle to a residence on Lilac Place, where police later attended to find a car with "significant" damage to the front of it.
After investigations, a man with a significant head injury was taken to Orange hospital, with officers to continue investigations when he is released.
No charges have yet been laid.
