Six years and over 600 registrations later, the Madeline Waters-run centre is one of the best in the country and was recently crowned Gymnastics NSW Medium Club of the year in Sydney.

Waters has been at the helm since before the switch to the new location and says the facilities and the range of options helped make it an award-winning spot.

"We've got one of the better training facilities in the region and that's come after a lot of hard work and fundraising," Waters said.

"There's programs to suit everyone. We've got plenty of competitive and recreational classes."

Not only is the variety spot on, the age-range makes it accessible to everyone.

"Kids can come in as soon as they're one and you can stay until you're 90," Waters said.

"We just launched a 'Fitter for Life' seniors program for over 65s as well."

Central West Gymnastics earned the exact same nomination at last year's ceremony, only to fall short of the trophy.

Not only did they take out the top prize on Sunday, they were nominated for the trampoline levels coaching team of the year, a testament to the progress Waters' facility is making every year.

Gyms with anywhere between 300 and 999 members fall into the medium category and the goal for Waters moving forward is to crack 1,000 members which would put her club in the large category.

The way the club's tracking, you'd think it'll reach 1,000 members by 2021 and those sign-ups are likely to increase with more visits from schools, a program that's part of an effort to be more inclusive.

"We have schools visit the club and we also visit them too," Waters said.
