Why must I pay the very high rates that I do when Council has failed to make provision for an adequate supply of water to the residents of Orange.

Reliance of rain was always a careless policy. We have known about climate change for 20 years or more.
I took it into account in my farm management planning as far back as 1997.
Why didn't the Council? We are faced with a climate emergency yet there are climate change deniers on Council.
Without putting to a fine a point on it their personal belief, and that's all it is in the face of science, they are putting all of us at risk. They should not be on Council.
But getting back to my rates; why should I pay for a service not delivered?
Why should I pay for a lack of decision making and poor management?
