I applaud the information put forward by Tony Rhead (Letter to the editor: Councillors' debate neither 'sensible nor scientific') in last week's Central Western Daily.

Mr Rhead is an accomplished journalist and businessman and experienced levels of both state and local government, and seen the changes that have been implemented to produce many valuable, long-term benefits to our population both locally and regionally.
Orange City Council has undertaken a number of initiatives in the past that has included the input of a highly-experienced scientists.
As we look to continue and improve our city's sustainability, enabling us to move forward and provide sustainable long term projects for our future, it's important that collaboration with the experts again takes place.
Understandably council will do this, however the information we draw on must come from the real experts.
Reputable scientific information is essential to providing open dialogue with the community. No one on Council has those exact qualifications.
And surely it's in the broader long-term interest of the 41,000 community members in Orange to be advised by the experts on what processes we must take as a city to ensure our future.
Commencing the dialogue with reputable and concise scientific information is essential to the requirements of our community and our future.
It is only through that dialogue from the experts that Council and the community can move ahead to projects that will benefit us long-term.
It is also worthwhile for Council members to consider that the most successful and vital projects in our city are achieved when working as a team.
Even with different perspectives it is essential to work within an expertise-based information forum.
I am confident this will happen in this case, too.
