Gwenieve Merten moved to the Orange campus from Narrabri to study a Bachelor of Dental Science.
She said with dentists were in short supply further west, the course was a clear choice.
"I always knew I wanted to do something medical but I wanted to do something that was hands-on," she said.
Also studying the five-year course will be Humaad Khan from Wollongong, who said he wanted to practise rurally.
"This is a perfect fit," he said.
Touch football and netball enthusiast Evie Simpson from Bathurst found her calling studying physiotherapy.
"I've always liked the human body and how they move," she said.
