Police are investigating several offences involving firearms from the past year, including one where a man was taken to Orange hospital after being attacked with a machete and shot in the groin.

Police established Strike Force Ramose after four men forced their way into a home on Gobolion Street, Wellington, armed with shotguns and a machete on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
A 37-year-old man was assaulted and struck with a machete, before he was shot in the groin.
The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before he was taken to Orange hospital, where he underwent surgery.
His condition is not considered life threatening.
Detectives from Orana Mid-Western Police District are conducting investigations into the assault and a possible link between the shooting and other offences that involved firearms in the western region.
The other offences included a 38-year-old man being shot in the legs at a unit block in Maxwell Street, Wellington about 6.30pm on Saturday, November 30, 2019,
The man was conveyed to Wellington hospital where he sought medical treatment. He was later transferred to Dubbo Base Hospital, and his condition is not considered life threatening.
Following that incident, in December 2019, detectives seized two rifles from a Wellington address. The rifles are being forensically examined.
In January 2020, detectives executed a search warrant in Swift Street, Wellington, where they seized a shortened firearm.
Inquiries continue into the ownership of the weapon.
Following further inquiries, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Target Action Group with the assistance of detectives executed a search warrant at an address in Yeoval on Thursday, February 13.
During the search officers seized 11 firearms, three pistols and a large amount of ammunition.
Police are conducting investigations for a possible link between all offences.
