Michael Glenn Manning, 27, of Torpy Street, was given a six-month Community Correction Order for the drug possession.
He was also given the same sentence for resisting police.
According to police, Manning was arrested on three outstanding warrants about 11.10am on September 24.
Manning was motionless and facedown on a bed when he was arrested but held his arms tightly to his sides making it difficult for police to handcuff him.
Once he was handcuffed he refused to walk so he had to be lifted, pulled and pushed through the door and down three flights of stairs to where the police vehicle was parked.
Manning was also given two two-year CCOs for not attending court on June 16 and August 18, 2019.
