Orange Art Society president David Mason said at least 118 artworks were submitted to be sold or auctioned so the RFS could buy new equipment, and some of the works were made available for pre-sale.
"The idea behind it was to raise some money for our local RFS, we've had paintings donated and we had some other things donated. They get every cent we raise," Mr Mason said.
"It's mostly paintings, we've got a couple of sculptures, we've got a quilt and some other things, we had some businesses donate gift vouchers, businesses are donating a few things."
Mr Mason said some of the works were by well-known artists such as Archibald Prize winner Cherry Hood, as well as a work by actor and artist Max Cullen.
Other well-known regional contributors included Loretta Blake, Ted Lewis, Joy Engelman, Tim Winters and Graham Lupp.
Art teacher Sandra Wenban initiated the auction and also invited Orange Art Society members and other Orange artists to participate.
The event will be held at the Orange Art Society rooms at the Orange Cultural Centre near Harris Farm Markets from 5pm with the auction to start at 7pm.
