AN expansive family home on a double block with prized rear-to-north aspect has taken out the top spot for the most expensive house sale in the region for 2019.

Domain has collated a list of the most expensive homes sold in the Bathurst, Dubbo, Lithgow, Mudgee and Orange postcodes during 2019, and almost every house in the top 15 sales was above one million dollars.
The top four most expensive homes on the list were properties in Orange, with the most expensive sold for $1,855,000 on November 29 last year.
Located at 39-41 Byng Street, the large family home sits on one of Orange's premier streets.
The home offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms downstairs, with the upstairs area dedicated to the main bedroom suite complete with Juliette balcony.
The second most expensive home was at 7 Gorman Road which sold for $,1710,000 in December.
This magnificent family home is located just minutes from town and features four bedrooms and two bathrooms and it located on two hectares.
Coming in as the region's third most expensive house sale was a three bedroom, one bathroom home at 72 Forbes Road. It has room for five vehicles and it sold for $1,650,000 in April.
The fourth most expensive home was a federation property at 21 Summer Street which overlooks Cook Park and sold for $1,600,000 in April.
It boasts five bedrooms and three bathrooms and is located on a 796 square metre block, the home has been meticulously modernised while honouring its heritage.
Rounding out the top five was a Bathurst sale for $1,520,000 in April at 90 Blue Ridge Drive in White Rock.
Set in one of Bathurst's most sought-after locations, Blue Ridge Estate, this beautifully designed home features eight bedrooms, four bathrooms and two car spaces.
Sixth on the list was an elegant four bedroom, two bathroom home at 43A Leconfield Drive in Bombira near Mudgee which sold for $1,375,000.
Seventh was a 12.6 hectare lifestyle block in Mudgee, complete with its own olive grove, that sold for $1,350,000.
Coming in eighth was a home in Little Hartley, with views across the Kanimbla Valley, that sold for $1,305,000.
Ninth was an architecturally designed five bedroom home in Bathurst for $1,225,000. While an expansive six-bedroom home in Bathurst that sold for $1,200,000 was number 10.

8th - $1,305,000 - Little Hartley
This home at 85A Cranbrook Park Road in Little Hartley has views south across the Kanimbla Valley. The private country estate is on 3.6 hectares, has five bedrooms and sold in January.
7th $1,350,000 - Riverlea, near Mudgee
This five bedroom home is located on a 12.6 hectare lifestyle block just 15 minutes from Mudgee. It has a 200 metre Cudgegong River frontage and a small, low maintenance olive grove. The property is located at 288 Riverlea Road in Riverlea and sold in September.
