Saturday's Tom Goldsack memorial golf day means the world to James Goldsack and his family, and they couldn't be more thankful to the Orange Hawks club for staging it.
But James knows there's no way Tom would be there at the Country Club to work on his chipping, or his driving ... or even his putting, for that matter.
"He was more there for the beers," James laughed. "Had a big a drive. He was a bit of a slogger."
The 2020 Tom Goldsack memorial golf day will tee-off from 2.30pm on Saturday, with the shot-gun start for the ambrose competition beginning from 3.30pm.
James says it's always a thrill to see so many people rally around his family on days like Saturday, with the support from the community following Tom's death in 2018 "unbelievable".
"Ever since we lost Tom, Hawks have been right behind me and my family ... we couldn't thank them enough for that," James said.
"They put his name on our jerseys, we've got the golf day. It means a lot to the family and me.
"Keeping his name living on, it's a great day.
"I've got and Tom had lots of mates from CYMS and they're all playing, and there guys from Emus too. Everyone loves the day."
The club will offer up a number of prizes to players and supporters on the day, with the event to be staged at the Country Club on Saturday.
