Jessie, 17, Abby, 16 and 14-year-old Molly train together, race together and - unsurprisingly - are as competitive as anything.
The three have been racing for the Orange Cycle and Triathlon Club for years, but this year they've all noticed a shift - and it's not one eldest sister Jessie is loving.
"Now we're similar in ability, for a while I was always winning but now Abby is very good at running and everything. Molly's up there too," she said.
Abby pipped her sister in Dubbo last week to claim the sprint title - and bragging rights - while Molly wasn't too far behind.
As much as Jessie has loved seeing her sisters do well, she's still set on regaining the crown from Abby this weekend at the Piranhas' home course at Gosling Creek - although it'll be even harder now the swim leg has been eliminated due to blue-green algae at the dam.
"Running is my weakness at the moment, Abby's better than I am but I normally get ahead in the swim so it's not as much a benefit for me to lose the swim," Jessie said.
Jessie said youngest sibling Molly was more than keeping up with the biking and running, and this weekend would suit her.
"I'm not that good at swimming so they get away from me. I'm getting better," Molly said.
Abby is also loving the chance to have two running legs on the weekend, as she admits being in the water is her main weakness, meaning the loss of the swim leg is "good for me".
"It's bad not swimming obviously leading into All Schools but we'll still find it good."
The sisters are all aiming to compete at All Schools' triathlon competition in Sydney in a fortnight, and will be looking to all graduate through to nationals together, with the top six in each age division - Abby and Jessie in seniors and Molly in intermediate - going through.
It would be a nice touch to have all three go through, with Jessie in her final year at All School competition - "we're hoping to make it together", the eldest said.
But for now, their minds are focused on Sunday's racing.
Orange sits atop the Central West Inter-Club Triathlon series table having picked up the maximum 30 points in each of the three rounds - 12 points ahead of Mudgee and 19.5 points ahead of Bathurst.
While the Dean family has been a big part of that, they said the club - with a whole host of families racing together - had become one massive community.
"There's been heaps of participation from Orange," Jessie said.
"It's so good, especially as it's literally everyone doing it together and having fun.
"Usually with team sports and other individual events you can't really do it as a whole family but with triathlon everyone gets involved - even parents and older members.
"Everyone's like one big family helping each other along."
The event will also be the first official unveiling of the new surface at Gosling Creek, too, with the new bitumen finished in the past week, which Molly had the chance to try out on Wednesday.
"It's good and it's now wider so it'll be good. We did ride yesterday and it was good, there was lots of room and it's very smooth."
Zoom races begin at 8.15am at Gosling Creek while Sprint and Super Sprint begin at 9am and 9.05am respectively.
