Among the radical faithful, brand logos are tattooed on upper arms and babies are still being christened Brock.
The rivalry extends to car shows like the Gnoo Blas Classic in Brabham Park on Saturday, February 15, and in the midst of it is now the popular Ford Mustangs.
They'll fight it out for the best marque along with a fleet of other Fords and Holdens of all models for the special awards.
DJR Penske V8 Team Mustang driver Tony D'Alberto will be at Gnoo Blas to fly the Mustang flag.
According to Gnoo Blas president Denis Gregory after competing as a full time Supercars driver for six years, this year will be his fourth season at DJRTP as an enduro driver in the No 12 Mustang.
"D'Alberto has been racing Supercars for 16 years and teamed up with Fabian Coulthard for third place at Bathurst in 2017," Mr Gregory said.
"Waving the Holden flag will be former V8 Team owner Garry Rogers and he will be backed up by the former boss of Holden Racing Team and Holden Special vehicles John Crennan.
"He will tell people at the enthusiasts' dinner on the Saturday night what it was like managing race drivers like Peter Brock off the race tracks."
The show will feature almost every make of car from the small Fiat 500s to Pontiacs, Mercedes, Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, BMW, Triumph, MG, Bristol, numerous Holden models from the FJ and Torana onwards and Falcon GTs to Volkswagens, Morris Minors and Minis to Holden and Ford street cars and motorcycles and trucks.
"The show now considered the biggest and best in country NSW attracts more than 500 entrants," Mr Gregory said.
"The car show will be commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Australian Touring Car Championship with the first race held on Gnoo Blas in 1960."
That race was billed the anniversary meeting because it was celebrating 100 years of local government in Orange.
The car show will also be celebrating 160 years of local government.
In the centenary year in 1960, the council planned to open the new airport and build a new civic centre, which had been planned and a model made.
