Director Blake Thomas will return to the role following his debut for the company in 2018 with Legally Blond.
Mr Thomas has been heavily involved with theatre most of his life, employed at Orange Civic Theatre as a technician.
We have an extremely talented cast and I cannot wait to see them all shine on stage in May
- Blake Thomas
Mr Thomas said the audience will relate to the Mama Mia! story and remember the songs.
"The music is uplifting, popular music that everyone knows," he said.
The musical tells the story of bride-to-be Sophie, played by Allie Burgess, who is on the search for her birth father.
Unfolding on a Greek island paradise, the woman's premarital quest brings three men from her mother's past back to the place they visited 20-years ago.
OTC was one of the first regional theatre companies to be granted the rights to perform Mamma Mia!, which had previously been reserved for professional theatre companies.
Mr Thomas said it was exciting to see a lot of new faces join the OTC for the production.
New to lead roles will be Charlie Parker as Sophie's mother, Donna and Peita Mages as Tanya, following her 2019 debut in Rent.
With rehearsals kicking off last week, the cast will practice three times a week until the opening in May.
From May 8, the cast will put on 10 shows over three weekends at the Orange Civic Theatre.
Other lead roles include Lisa Lynch as Rosie, Grant Westcott as Sam, Nick Tucknott as Bill and David Smyth as Harry.
Supporting roles include Amelia Bennetts as Ali, Alex Halls as Lisa, James Eade as Pepper and Daniel Stevenson as Eddie.
Mr Thomas called the talent pool this year "amazing."
"We have an extremely talented cast and I cannot wait to see them all shine on stage in May," said Mr Thomas.
Tickets are available at Ticketek or by calling the Box Office on 6393 8111.
