The Orange Art Society has organised the event which will include work from Archibald Prize winner Cherry Hood.
Proceeds from Ms Wood's koala sketch, alongside around 50 other works, will go directly to the NSW Rural Fire Service Canobolas Zone.
Zone Manager David Hoadley has recently returned from a 24-day deployment helping with fire-fighting logistics in Ilford.
He said the 1246 volunteers from the region who've been assisting the fire efforts since September are in need of new equipment.
The crew will look to purchase motorised blower equipment, used to clear paths, with proceeds from the auction.
"At the moment we don't have it in our budget to buy one," he said.
Ted Lewis, Joy Engleman and Loretta Blake are among the artists from the region who have donated works.
Some of the pieces will be auctioned at the society's event on February 22, while a selection of works are already on sale at the Orange Art Society's Sale Street building.
Member Hank Spirek's connections in the art world have also seen donations from Archibald prize finalist Margarita Georgiadis and her husband Max Cullen.
Mr Hoadley said it is a huge benefit to volunteer fire fighters to know they're communities are behind them and supporting them.
"Our volunteers have gone away from the north to the south of the state to help others - which is tremendous," he said.
"We've been very fortunate not to have had any nuisance fires here and the community has been very good at refraining from using welders, grinders, slashes and not burning cars - all those things which contribute to volunteers workloads.
Mr Hoadley said the auction demonstrated the communities ongoing support for the volunteer's hard work.
"It's a way of acknowledging the work the local volunteers here do and will continue to do until the end of the fire season," he said.
Mr Hoadley said the best he could predict for when that might be was "when it rains properly."
"I hope that's sooner rather than later," he said.
Doors open for the Orange Art Society's RFS auction at 5pm on February 22, with the auction taking place from 7pm.
It has been Australia's lost summer. Drought, hail, floods and, worst of all, bushfires have ravaged communities all over the nation.
