Orange is a chance of a storm on Saturday afternoon, potentially into the evening, with the possibility the cell becomes severe, bringing about rain bursts, damaging winds and hail.
The Buereau of Meteorology is predicting a 50 per cent chance of rain for the region on Saturday, with as much as 5mm to fall.
Orange should reach a top of 30 degrees on Saturday, before hitting 31 for Sunday's Australia Day festivities.
There's more chance of rain on Sunday, too, with a 50 per cent chance. Up to 5mm is predicted to fall if we do get rain.
The next round of thunderstorms is forecast for Monday.
