Brant Mann (3-24) led the charge for the Warriors with ball in hand as all six bowlers picked up a Kinross wicket - and Adrian Mielke chiming in with a run out - to skittle the students for just 102.
Dave Hunter accounted for nearly half of those runs with a fighting 42 at the top of the order, while former first grade coach Ben Ronald also made 31.
Ronald's dismissal with the score on 97 sparked a monumental collapse as the side lost 6-10, including the final two wickets for no runs.
With just over 100 to get from 50 overs, Dave Boundy set about scoring as many of those 100 on his own as possible, smashing 55 from 34 deliveries - including nine fours and two sixes - before being bowled by Henry Forsyth.
However, by the time he was dismissed City was less than 20 runs from the total, with Mielke's 27 not out guiding the side home.
Meanwhile, Cavaliers scored a comfortable win over Centrals in the other match as Nic Drage and Stu Middleton whacked the ball around at the top of the order.
Drage hit 48 and Middleton 25 as Ryan Noon (29 not out) also made runs to see the side to 9-198 despite three wickets to Ben Winslade, but Centrals didn't have the firepower with the bat to get there.
Adam Shepherd and Winslade top-scored with 27 apiece as the side only managed 148 in response thanks to tight bowling from Middleton (1-21 from eight) and Waseem Khan (2-34).
Meanwhile Drage also snared 2-7 from just eight deliveries at the tail end of the innings.
CYMS had the bye, which keeps the side locked on points with Kinross but sitting in fourth place, just outside a finals spot.
In third grade, Gladstone had two wins from their two Twenty20 games, as the big-hitting side made the most of playing on the synthetic wicket of Jack Brabham 3.
They hit 5-203 against CYMS Bourkes before rolling the side for 129 in reply, but the side only just managed to chase down Centrals Wanderers' 5-122 after Shane Crowhurst and Mitch Stanley both hit 40s, with Stanley showing no signs of the affliction which caused him to lose form badly early in the season.
Crowhurst and Damien Caughlan both took two wickets as Gladstone waited until the final over the pass the score, with only two wickets in hand.
Wanderers did defeat Orange City in its second game, while the Warriors were able to overcome CYMS Bourkes on Moulder Park.
CYMS Kelly's had more luck than the Bourkes side as the side defeated Centrals White by 47 runs at Brendon Sturgeon Oval.
