Fire crews were called to a fire in a pine forest near Mullion Creek on Sunday afternoon after it was spotted by a helicopter crew.

Canobolas Zone Rural Fire Service Zone Technical Officer Geoff Selwood said the fire could have been burning for some time before it was spotted by the Forestry Corporation helicopter.
Mr Selwood said five RFS tankers were supporting Forestry crews to put out the fire on Ostini Lane.

He said the Forestry Commission was using a bulldozer among its equipment.

Mr Selwood said the fire was in a hard-to-access area.
"It is not getting anywhere. It is only trickling around. It is in a pine tree area that has been harvested," he said.
The fire was reported about 3pm.
It was listed as at Advice level by the RFS.
