Police said a military vehicle travelling south from Queensland left the Newell Highway about 25km from Forbes and crashed.
One person was transported to Forbes hospital, then flown to Orange hospital.
Investigations into the crash, which occurred about midday, were ongoing but police did extend thanks to a local business.
With about 15 people stranded on the side of the highway, police called the Roundabout Bakery who responded quickly to provide sandwiches.
