In January 2019, detectives from the State Crime Command's Drug and Firearms Squad established Strike Force Colenso to investigate the supply of prohibited firearms across NSW.
The 32-year-old Millthorpe man was arrested in Oberon after he was pulled over on Albion Street last Saturday, January 11.
He was the ninth person attested as part of the strike force and was charged with supplying a prohibited firearm to an unauthorised person and selling a prohibited weapon to a buyer not authorised to posses it.
He appeared at Bathurst Local Court on the same day and was refused bail to reappear again in Bathurst Local Court on March 16.
The state-wide investigation netted arrests in Dubbo as well, with a 20-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman taken into custody in mid-November.
The man was granted strict conditional bail to reappear at the Dubbo Local Court on January 22 while the woman was afforded the same bail conditions, and will appear in court at the same time.
During the course of the investigation, police seized 17 firearms - including rifles, shotguns, shortened firearms and a pistol - firearm parts, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and prohibited weapons.
Nine of the firearms have been confirmed as stolen.
Investigations under Strike Force Colenso are ongoing.
