Bathurst went down in their semi-final to hosts Orange and it left a mark with the green and golds, who are hungry for revenge on their own turf this Sunday.

However, to even set up a potential rematch with the defending champions Bathurst will need to overcome a traditionally strong T20 unit in Lithgow.

As former winners of the Royal Hotel Cup Lithgow command plenty of respect, and many of their players have had a role in taking Centennials Bulls inside the top four of the Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket competition.

Ryan said if Bathurst want to set up a potential rematch with Orange, who face Cowra in their tournament-opener, then his side need to keep Lithgow's weapons under control.

"It's a team that's played in the [Royal Hotel] Cup together but hopefully we've played enough cricket together that we can play well as a group," he said.

"As long as we're switched on and we try our best that's all I can ask for. Last year was disappointing on our behalf. We took Orange too lightly."

Bathurst has a strong presence once again in the Central West Wranglers team for the Plan B Regional Bash and Ryan said the district team needs to show they deserve those places.

"It's disappointing the way we played last year. We put a big price tag on it this year. We don't want to be complacent it at all," he said of the 2018-19 Mitchell T20 Cup.

"Yes, it's a shorter format and anything can happen but I want the boys really playing their best cricket. With having the amount of players we do in the Central West Wranglers team we want everyone to have a good hit out before that comes around.

"We need to show everyone why so many Bathurst players were picked in that side.

"It's probably a more mature team than we've had for a while. Hopefully we can play our best cricket, and that will get us close."

Bathurst is going all out to take back the title, fielding an impressive squad on Sunday.

Two of the names that stand out on the list are Matt Stephen and Ben Parsons.

The shorter Twenty20 format is an ideal return to the Bathurst team for Stephen, who will be testing out his fitness on his continued injury recovery.

Parsons has been named to the Bathurst team on his return from overseas despite not having taken to the field for a BOIDC match this season.

The pair will be ones to watch with the ball for Bathurst, though their big-hitting capabilities with the bat have also been proven.

"Ben's an exceptional talent with bat and ball and I'm looking forward to seeing how he comes through," Ryan said.

"He's been training hard and he looks really fit.

"Stevo threw his hand up for the Wranglers and he's out there to make sure he's fit and match ready for that."

This will be the fourth edition of the Mitchell T20 Cup.

Orange are looking for title number three while Bathurst are out to emulate their efforts from 2017-18 season.

The opening round of matches take place at Morse Park from 10am with the final to follow at 2.30pm.
