The Central West has already received widespread rain this week, and while the falls were not as heavy on Tuesday night they were still welcomed.
Mudgee received the most amount of rain with 9.6 millimetres recorded by 8am on Wednesday.

However, NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) firefighters in this region report that lightning strikes caused a number of new fires to ignite overnight.
Dubbo recorded 2.2mm of rain overnight, this was followed by Lithgow (2.0mm), Bathurst and Cowra (1.8mm each) and Orange 0.2mm.

Further falls and possible thunderstorms are predicted across the region, with up to 5mm of rain possible in Bathurst, Lithgow and Mudgee.
