Orange District Junior Cricket Association's Ollie Brincat and Morty Hamling are confident their side has what it takes to be title contenders at this week's Western NSW Under-13 Carnival, but cautiously so considering their rivals are largely unknown.

Brincat will co-captain the Orange side along with Max Richards while young Hamling will take the gloves for the prestigious, week-long carnival, and the black and golds will have the benefit of being familiar with at least some of their opposition.
With St Paul's Academy India forced to withdraw due to visa issues the ODJCA has entered a second Barbarians outfit, while there'll be no secrets between the hosts and Mitchell Cricket Council either, or Dubbo for that matter.
I think we should go pretty well. We'll get an idea after the first game I think.

Shoalhaven was also forced to withdraw from the tournament due to the ongoing bushfire crisis.
But the likes of Blacktown, Penrith, North Shore, and Parramatta, as examples, well, Brincat admitted it's tough to gauge how his side will fare against those Sydney-based outfits should they face them this week.
"We do know some of the sides but not much about the Sydney teams," Brincat said, with his side to take on Penrith in their tournament-opener.
"We've been going really well in [the Mitchell Cricket Council Under-12] competition and we've got about half that side playing, and a few who were in it last year, so I think we should go pretty well. We'll get an idea after the first game I think.
"We don't know if we'll play a lot of the Sydney sides yet anyway because we only have the draw for the first day ... it'll be good to play those teams but I think it'd be really fun to play the other Orange side too."
That Barbarians side is made of a number of Orange players from a few different age groups, with a couple of under-14 guns named too to bolster the squad and ensure their was no bye day-to-day.
Hamling will have added motivation should Orange face the Barbarians too, his older brother Darcy's been named in that side and he'd love to get one over his elder sibling.
"I reckon I would get him too, he'd get a big nick and I'd catch it," Morty Hamling laughed.
"It would be really good to play against them, it'd be really fun. That's the most important thing I think, having fun. Being consistent will be pretty important too.
"We've done really well in the [representative season] so far, we haven't lost a game, so hopefully we can do that in this competition too."
Orange face Penrith at Jack Brabham 2 while the Barbarians take on Parramatta 1 at Country Oval and Mitchell Cricket Council, the other local hopes, face North West Sydney at Jack Brabham 4.
In the other round one games Blacktown Gold play Inner West at Jack Brabham 1, Parramatta 2 take on Radford College at Riawena Oval, North Shore play the Sydney Invitational XI at Kinross' Sharpe Oval and Dubbo take on Blacktown Black at Molong's Dr Ross Memorial Recreation Ground.
All games start at 10am on Monday morning with the draw for the remainder of the week to be released, some games later in the week begin at 9am.
