The pairing made a similarly emphatic statement in the Stanley's old training ground of Bathurst in the middle of December and showed no signs of slowing down on the green surface of Dubbo's track.
Stanley took the race by the reins on the final turn of the 1400 metre gallop, shifting to take the inside line from Peter Cornish's Athena's Voice and showing off their speed in a battle with Matthew Cahill, riding Petain for Bob Howe.
Stanley and The Long Run put nearly two full lengths between themselves and Petain by the time they passed the finishing post, with Petain crossing second, followed closely by Cornish's Athena's Voice ridden by Anthony Cavallo.
The Sharon Jeffries trained and Tiffany Jeffries ridden Hokkaido was able to overcome the Clint Lundholm trained Sons of Bourke to finish in fourth after coming around the outside, but wasn't able to make anymore of it, while Daniel Northey and Next Level finished in sixth for trainer Cindy Monaghan.
While the Jeffries' run along the finishing straight seeming to disappoint, they were able to secure a maiden win for Empowered Madam in the Commercial Hotel Maiden Plate later in the day's races, beating back both Merv Rumble's The Exchequer and Clint Lundholm's Sticks 'N' Stones.
