The man's 29-year-old female passenger was taken to Orange Health Services for treatment and was expected to face charges.

Officers from the Central Western Police District were called to Winter Street at approximately 2.20am on Monday, amid reports of a speeding vehicle in the area.

Police engaged in a short pursuit with the driver of the White Holden Commodore Sedan, before he failed to navigate a right-hand turn on an intersection of Kearney's Drive and Margaret Street.

Investigations into the identification of the mission driver were underway on Monday.

Police asked anyone with information on the man's whereabouts to contact the station on 6363 6399.
